Hawaii- The perfect Honeymoon
May 13th, 2008 by Jimmy
Everybody knows that the best part about getting married is the Honeymoon. So when choosing a honeymoon destination, you should choose wisely. You cannot go wrong with Hawaii. It has the perfect climate, varying only a few degrees in temperature from season to season. Even in the winter you can expect to have eighty degree temperatures. You will have five different options to choose from when deciding which island to visit during your stay in Hawaii. They are each equally unique and beautiful in their own way.
Because of the vast array of options you can choose to stay as long as you like and never have to experience the same thing twice. I would recommend that you stay ten days at the very least. There is too much to see. You want to make sure that you don’t miss a thing; and in most cases you have traveled so far to get there, you might as well make the most of your journey.
Oahu is a good place to start a honeymoon. You will have many different fine dining options, as well as some very good room service. Honolulu will offer the most night life of any of the islands, so if you dare to venture out, this is the place to do so. There are two historic hotels located in Honolulu, the Royal Hawaiian and the Westin Moana Surfrider. They are both actually located on the same block.
I highly recommend the Sheraton Moana Surf rider. The hotel is over a hundred years old, but has been kept so up to date, that you will be surrounded in total luxury. Upon arrival you will be greeted in Hawaiian style with a fresh flower lei. Make sure to mention when making your reservations that this is a honeymoon. The hotel usually provides as special welcome gift for newlyweds. The hotel staff is ready to please; expect to be pampered. The beach itself on Waikiki is nothing spectacular, but it is still a must on list of places to visit.
If beaches are your thing you should take a trip over to the north shore of Oahu, before leaving the island for your next destination, Maui. Maui too will offer ample opportunity for romance. There is nothing more romantic than sipping a mai-tai on your balcony, while watching the sunset over the pacific.
The road to Hana is a popular attraction for visitors. Hana is a quiet town located on the eastern side of the island. The road to Hana is more about the journey than the actual destination. The trip should take about ten to twelve hours, allowing for plenty of stops along the way. The highway will take you by hundreds of breathtaking waterfalls, stunning black sand beaches, a forest reserve, and even a botanical garden.
I would recommend renting a jeep with four-wheel-drive as there are some destinations that are only accessible by four wheel drive. These secluded beaches make for a great romantic place to stop.
I would absolutely LOVE to go to Hawaii one day. I got married about 4 months ago, and still haven’t gone on honeymoon yet. I got married the Saturday, and had to go back to work that Wednesday, so no time for honeymoon.
Please recommend more romantic honeymoon destinations.
definetely hawaii is one of the best places to visit. Sri Lanka is also famous for nice beaches, and great for honeymoons too
Oahu is a great place to take teenagers too. There is so much to do and the beach is a blast. We took 5 teens last year they had a blast. The surf lessons were a big hit, as was the shopping for the girls. Oahu is so exciting that there is no way they can get bored!
What a brilliant post. I am thinking of taking my honeymoon in Hawaii. Firstly due to the fact that I was banned from usa for working without a visa 5 years ago, so when I get my fiance visa in august I will come to the states to get married. Apparently I have 90 days in which to marry and then after that I am not allowed to leave until all my paperwork is sorted. I spoke to my fiancee and when talking about honeymoons I said straight away ‘hawaii’. I have never been so really look forward to it and your post just made me want time to pass quicker.
Thanks for the recommendations
My soon to be wife and I are planning to spend our honeymoon in Hawaii. What is the best limousine provider in Hawaii that you can recommend to us? I want to make it very memorable to us. Thank you.
Wow, what a great holiday. Thank you for these precious tips.
Very informative post like your other articles Jim. I’ve visited some sites about Hawaii and I definitely agree with you (even though, I haven’t actually gone there, lol). Keep it up.
This is a great article. But, still, I have to think that there are more create locations for one of your life’s most important trips. Guataloupe, Belize, etc. come to mind.
Although I’m not married, I’ve made it to Hawaii several times. Maui is a must-see (for me at least) and so is Kauai. If you’re going to go to Hana, make sure you’re not scared of bridges… just like the song says, there are 54 of them to cross on the way to Hana.
nice review.
i’ll rent a jeep with four-wheel-drive to feel those romantic moods.
I love Hawaii. I’ve been there last year for a vacation with my parents. Now, this month I’ll be going back there again, not with my parents but with my husband. We are both beach lovers and Hawaii is the perfect holiday vacation destination for us.
Hawaii is a romantic place in general, thank you for detailed information, i will visit it as soon as possible. Thinking of visiting hawaii for a long time
Yeah, i think the same. Hawaii is a perfect place for honeymooners. A hawaii cruise vacation would be the best, in this way you could visit different islands in Hawaii.
Hello Jimmy,
Hawaii is certainly the most sought after vacation destination when it comes to a romantic honeymoon. The rich scenery and warm trade winds equates to an escape like no other. I noticed no mention of renting a private vacation home. There is a distinct advantage to having privacy along with the luxury, and there are certainly plenty of residencies that provide the solitude that a newly wed couple deserves.
Your blog looks wonderful.
I’ve just returned for jet-skiing in Hawaii. It’s a great place but just a little expensive if you plan to stay for a long while especially in the current time.
you should try visiting Indonesia, we have a lot of beautiful beaches, gorgeous underwater and spectacular mountain.
if you love beaches and diving you must try cubadak island, derawan island, batu ampat, moyo island or gili terawangan.
mount rinjani, krakatau and bromo will welcome you with beautiful sunrise.
yupss…. some country notice that Indonesia is very dangerous, we can understanding those “Travel Warning” coz INDONESIA is DANGEROUSLY BEAUTY!
Great article, I’ve always wanted to see Hawaii! Sounds like the perfect getaway spot for a honeymoon
Hawaii has so many things to do when you’re there. Oahu has loads of activities you can do there. It really is paradise
Not only is Hawaii a great place for a honeymoon, but it’s also a great place for a second honeymoon. When my wife and I were married, we were young and couldn’t afford a real honeymoon. For our 10 year anniversary we were able to steal away to Hawaii for 9 days. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect place. The weather, scenery and people were all unbelievable! If you go, and have an opportunity, take the trek to to the top of Mauna Kea to watch the sunset. I promise, you won’t regret it and it’s something you’ll remember for the rest of your life.
Yes,Hawaii is a great place, very beautifull and romantic…Mexico is good for honeymoon too.
I will admit not having the luxury of going on a honeymoon yet but I have been to Hawai and I can see just why many people choose to go there for a honeymoon. The Island itself is amazingly friendly and of course it helps the hotels are brilliant as well as the restaurents and beaches really being top of the range.
Brilliant place to holiday and honeymoon too i’m sure.
Wow, thats sounds amazing. Almost makes me want to get married just for the honey moon. Almost…
I agree with you if Hawaii is The perfect places for Honeymoon
